My first book for gay and lesbian kids, Beyond the Wind, was published by Haworth Press and InsideOut of NY in 2003. It was then picked up by PFLAG groups across the country, and soon had sold over 10,000 copies.
Beyond the Wind is the story of Chris and Kyle, who stumble upon a conspiracy to prevent an AIDS awareness program from being introduced into the Nebraska school system. The two boys become players in this political thriller after witnessing the shooting of Senator Steve Landan, who opposed this program due to its alleged “gay agenda.” Ironically, they are thrown a lifeline by Senator Martin Ash, an AIDS Activist involved in the fight against the virus which has taken the lives of millions.
In Out of the Storm, Kyle is charged with Infecting Another with HIV, and Chris uncovers the truth regarding repairative therapy, scripture abuse, and what the Bible really says about homosexuality.
