The play, Scratchin’ on the Eight Ball consisted of two scenes performed by a five-member cast at the Joyo Theater in Havelock. Show times were Dec. 18th and 19th, and the doors opened with the Dodging Bullets playing their original songs.
Tom Frye, author of the play also performed and spoke about why he wrote this book, and his new one, The Woods of Bloody Mary.
Dodging Bullets is a four-piece band which first started at the Academy of Rock, but soon began writing songs of their own. All of the members are 13-years-old, but they are impressive musicians and they added a magical element to the show.
Plans for the future include a video taping of the play, which will be made available for Cable Access and YouTube. Plus, I’ll include the tape as part of my curriculum packet to schools, treatment centers, and group homes.
