Books
The first three books on this site are part of my Havelock Chronicles, which detail the story of young Reason Nelson. The first, Scratchin’ on the Eight Ball, takes place when Reason gets caught up in a web of drugs and deceptions. Based on the actual murder of a young informant, this book is the most Lost, Stolen, and Missing book in both the Public School system and the Lincoln Public libraries.
The second, The Kid, The Cop, and The Con, follows Reason as he tries to remain drug-free, though he finds himself on the hit list of a serial killer.
The third in the series, The Woods of Bloody Mary, finds Reason caught up in a blackmail plot to influence a juvenile judge.
Quest of the Dragon Stone is based on the Kastleland adventures at a popular summer camp.
Stag Heart is a book about a delinquent Lakota girl, Dawn Redfeather, who witnesses the fatal shooting of an FBI agent. In an attempt to clear Tall Thunderhawk, who is falsely accused of the shooting, Dawn hands in the one piece of evidence to Ryan MacNeil, the son of the sheriff of Riverview. The only catch is, Ryan’s mother was killed by Tall ten years earlier in a drunk driving accident.
Beyond the Wind is a book about an AIDS awareness program and the assassination of a Nebraska Senator who has plans to shut it down. Young Chris and Kyle witness the shooting and end up with the tape of the killer. Chris’s problems will be over when they decide who to give the tape to. Kyle, however, discovers he’s been infected with the killer virus which has taken the life of millions. (Now available.)
Projects I’m working on include: The Life and Times of Reason Nelson, which begins when Reason is just nine-years-old. It’s about problem behaviors in younger kids.
Rivermoon, which is a sci-fi thriller about two boys who capsize their canoe and get stranded on an island in the middle of the Missouri River. The name comes from the research facility once located on the island, where monkeys were misused as lab rats.
Lionstone Legacy is a medieval Fantasy, where in the realm of Valasar, magic has been outlawed. Valasar is inhabited by knights, fair maidens, outlaws, assassins, and nasty creatures known as the Dragons of the Dread. Come step into this adventure, where young Jace Storm, the exiled son of the Lionlord, is accused of being fey and practicing magic. This book includes the once published Jewel Folk, about a race of small folk related to both Elves and Dwarves, but rejected by both!
