Wow, what a network she has going!

Okay, I put in a request to Beth Muehling, actress extraordinaire, that I needed three young actors for my Bloody Mary play, and lo and behold, I had 150 hits on my site in one day! Now while all those folks were curious and they did read some of my material, not one has responded to my invite to act in the play.

I did find two kids who are interested, and handed them scripts, but nothing is yet set in stone. So I wait, patiently, for a few more to respond. I was planning on canceling the performance date of Feb. 18 and 19, for the second time, however, Brandon, one of my current kid actors who is performing in the 8-Ball play surprised me this week. He actually strongly suggested we just stick to our schedule, perform 8-Ball  on the two dates, and then present Bloody Mary somewhere down the line, perhaps, March or April.

I spoke to Dwight today, owner of the Joyo, and he told him the show will go on. He was relieved. So while we continue to rehearse for Scratchin’ on the Eight Ball, I will keep working on rounding up a cast of kid actors for Bloody Mary.

Got any one in mind? Send them my way! 13-15 year-old boys with shaggy or long hair. I already have a wonderful actress playing Mary, and I think I might be playing Detective Shepherd, so got those two parts covered.

Storm Haven: imagine a light house sending out it's beacon on a stormy sea. On the sea is a boat, badly battered by the wind and the waves, its sail torn and tattered. Inside the boat is a world weary, forlorn kid, seeking a safe haven. Now apply this to a kid who picks up one of my books, and as he sits reading in his cell at some detention center or in his room at treatment, his imagination is suspended for that brief time as he finds a haven from the storm.
