Due to not finding my actors to perform Bloody Mary until this past Sunday, we are postponing this play until late January. There is no way my actors will pull it off by Dec. plus one of them has landed the lead role in Aladdin for the Haymarket Theater, and one of those performance nights falls on Dec. 18th. So I will keep you all posted as to the progress we are making on this particular play.
And just when I thought I was on track for the 8-Ball play, I got a call from my lead actor’s mother. He’s been grounded for skipping classes! I know I am not working with angels, but come on, guy, get your act together! He is a wonderful actor but has trouble staying interested in school!
So tonight, we practice as usual, and I will end up reading the parts for Reason and Detective Shepherd. It’s a wonder I don’t have a personality disorder, switching from a delinquent kid to a hard-nosed cop! Speaking of which, Denny will be on board tomorrow night to fill the role of Detective Shepherd.
In the meantime, I have a new play in the works. It is based on one of those peer juries at juvenile court, and it may take as many as 13 actors to fill all the roles. So if you’re a kid and you want to act in a play about a psycho kid, feel free to drop me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org If you’re lucky, you may be the last actor standing as everyone starts dropping like flies during the play.
