How was the play?

The first night of the play opened with 180 people in attendance, and as the saying goes, “You could have heard a pin drop,” and we sold a over 85 books during the two shows!

I owe a great thanks to Dwight, the owner of the Joyo, for he made the whole thing possible by allowing us to put on the show. I also owe the Dodging Bullets a big, “THANK YOU,” for they were well-received by the audience and they took their roles as promoters of the show seriously.

Last but not least, my cast were a great crew to work with. Denny Ladue floored me with his performance as Detective Shepherd. Cheri Marti nailed her role as Miss Thurston. Nate, Alex, and Brandon did an exceptional job of portraying the troubled kids in the play. And now that the show is over, I’m planning on having it taped so we can present it to a larger audience.

A special thanks to Dennis Buckley of the Neighborhood Extra and Roger Yant of Around Town, and also to the folks at Ground Zero. With their coverage for the play, we had an audience of over 300 people for the two nights of the show!

Another special thanks to all my old friends from Havelock who came to show their support. It seems like yesterday when I sat down there at Havelock Park debating the great mysteries of life with you!

8-Ball, The Play!

Show opens at 7pm both nights.  Hope to see you there!

Be sure to check out the article about the play in the Neighborhood Extra, too!

Long live Havelock!

The 8-Ball plays opens this weekend at the Joyo in Havelock. It seems like yesterday that I sat down there at that theater shooting Red Hots out of my pea-shooter, and beaning unfortunate movie-goers in the back of their heads!

So, it is only appropriate that I present my play down there at the old theater. My five-member cast will nail their parts and I’m sure the audience will be impressed with their performance.

Dodging Bullets are ready to go, as well! I think my Havelock friends will be impressed with their performance, and if they don’t spend all their money on my books, they can purchase one of the band’s CD’s.

Last but not least, I’ll be speaking about why I wrote the 8-Ball book and the one on Bloody Mary. And if I get up the nerve, I’ll even perform a song. That should be worth the free admission, shouldn’t it?
